Preparation for sacraments is mandatory.

baptism

Baptism:

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.

First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist

Baptised Children are eligible for First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist when they are in grade 2. Preparation is done by parents at home with the guidance of a catechist. Preparation for reconciliation starts in advent or lent. Preparation for the Eucharist starts after Easter.
If your child needs to make their first confession or first communion, call Lori Ann Regnier at (204) 864-3083

Confirmation

Confirmation is a tri-parish celebration shared with Elie and St. Eustache. It occurs every few years when there are enough students in grade 7, and older who are ready to confirm their faith. It is usually performed by the archbishop.

marriage

Marriage:

Marriage preparation classes must be attended somewhere in the diocese.

Funerals

Catholic cemeteries are an integral part of the Church's beliefs and rights. The Church considers the cemetery to be a holy place. Catholic communities establish cemeteries, care for them and maintain them as a sign to all, of Christian hope in the resurrection.

Rules, regulations and cemetery fees are to be respected and adhered to by all concerned parties. It is hoped that these will help promote good order, foster the sacred character of the parish cemetery and contribute to the protection and perpetual care of the resting places of those who await the dawn of the Lord's coming in glory.
